WHY: Join Phoenix, AZ and the world in celebrating Earth Day. Earth Day 2014: Urban Roots - Ancient Wisdom will take you back to the basics of artistic expression from the tribal roots of rhythm, voice and movement -- the fundamentals of expression. Earth Day 2: Urban Roots - Ancient Wisdom will bring together the Valley's finest poets, dancers, and musicians for a community celebration of collaborative "fusion" of music, dance and vocal artistic expression. Come to be catapulted into the highest of vibrations, as we celebrate, educate and change our world.
Earth Day 2: Urban Roots - Ancient Wisdom begins with the sacred act of planting the very first tree in the cultural asset of Alwun House's Green Art Park. The tree planting is part of the "Healing Trees" program, a state-wide tree planting program that offers remembrance to those who died and were injured in the Tucson, Arizona shootings on January 8, 2011.
The Tree Planting will further the Healing Tree movement, a global outreach program of the local 501c3 nonprofit organization, The Fusion Foundation, this act of giving will take all attendees into the global mind of planetary healing and restoration.
The evening of entertainment will be provided by:
Orgena Rose MC
Rick Rose and Soul Rise
**Drum Circle*** with audience and artist involvement led by the enthusiastic and renowned percussion master Ken Koshio, more than 100 percussion instruments will be available for attendees to participate in sending a vibration of love and healing to our community - to our planet.
This is a fundraiser for the Alwun House and The FUSION Foundation.
